This is a magnificent book with a very large number of full colour photographs that explain visually the structure of the honeybee. This must be the modern definitive work on the structure of the bee. Highly recommended.

Microscopy is a very important part of beekeeping these days. The author, Bob Maurer, has aquired considerable knowledge in this area from a self taught beginning. This book is well written from this perspective and is an easy read. It succeeds where others have failed in making what is potentially a very technical subject understandable from the beginners viewpoint. Why microscopes are needed in beekeeping and how they are used is clearly and concisely described. An excellent book
