Brunel Portascope

Brunel Portascope

Price: £179.17 (Excluding VAT at 20%)

The Brunel Portascope is a flexible and portable handheld microscope that is ideal for quality control procedures - particularly those that require accurate XY measurements. The Portascope has a side arm with a coaxial LED lighting system that operates either with the on board rechargeable batteries or directly from the mains adapter (supplied). The microscope itself has a x10 measuring eyepiece and a x4 standard RMS screw thread objective supplied as standard providing an overall magnification of x40. x2, x10 and x20 objectives can be supplied as accessories which would provide additional x20, x100 and x200 magnification options. The Portascope is easiest to use when it can be placed flat onto the material to be examined which increases its stability and ease of focusing. Accurate focus is achieved by rotation of the collar in either direction. As with all microscopes that use coaxial lighting, the quality of the image is dependant on the amount of light reflected from the surface of the specimen and how this is effected by the illuminating light source. Key to this balance is the use of polarising filters and the Portascope is equipped with a polarising filter insert in the arm of the LED light and an analysing filter that fits above the objective mounting and can be fully rotated to cross or partially cross with the polariser filter

SP 202-XM Dual Metallurgical Microscope

Price: £1,077.50 (Excluding VAT at 20%)

The SP202XM allows the option of a dual goose neck LED lighting system that can illuminate the specimen from any angle independently from the standard pathway that always combines both the illumination and image systems. SP-600 Metallurgical Microscope

SP-600 Metallurgical Microscope

Price: £2,213.33 (Excluding VAT at 20%)

The Brunel SP600M is a heavyweight industrial metallurgical microscope built to a very exacting standard, and is available as a brightfield instrument (SP600M) or as a brightfield/darkfield microscope (SP600BD) . A particular feature of this model is the magnificent dual action mechanical stage. This is large enough to accommodate the largest of specimen surfaces, and measures 280 x 270mm with a movement range of 204 x 204mm. Movement can be via a rapid and very smooth gliding system controlled by a simple drop down handle. This allows very rapid screening of a large specimen. In addition the stage has a conventional rack and pinion movement that is controlled by the usual drop down mechanism. This is an ideal microscope for the screening and high power examination of circuit boards and electronic components of all types. The SP600BD can toggle between brightfield and darkfield illumination that allows the visualisation of subtle variations in surface structures.
Focus is obtained by the vertical movement of the stage via low position coaxial coarse and fine focus controls. The stage platform measures 300 x 300mm with a central contrast insert that can be black or white. The gliding mechanism allows movement of 204 x 204mm and the rack and pinion 153 x 153mm.
Quintuple nosepiece with plan objectives corrected for use without coverslips. Both models are equipped with a polarisation option with the ability to mechanically cross the filters. Both have field and aperature diaphragms allowing Kohler illumination. The SP600M has a 6v 30watt halogen light source and the SP600BD 12v 50watt. Fitted with x5, x10, x20, x50 and x80 bright field objectives.

SP-110M Metallurgical Microscope

SP-110M Metallurgical Microscope

Price: £4,033.33 (Excluding VAT at 20%)

The SP110M is an extremely versatile metallurgical microscope. The pole stand and base arrangement allows large surface areas as well as very thick materials to be examined. This is an ideal instrument for the inspection of surfaces of all types and electronic circuit boards for example. It is also extremely effective for specimen measurement. The infinity plan objectives are both bright field and dark field and of excellent quality. The illumination system has a stand alone transformer delivering 12 volt 30 watt output. The incident lighting has an integrated field and aperture diaphragm allowing Kohler illumination. The SP110M can be toggled between bright and dark field observation simply, by a push/pull lever. Similarly polarisation filters can be introduced to the optical path, and the polarising filter can be rotated through 360° via a thumb wheel arrangement. Bright field/dark field objectives x5, x10, x20 and x50 fitted as standard.

SP-105 Metallurgicall Microscope

SP-105 Metallurgicall Microscope

Price: £2,062.50 (Excluding VAT at 20%)

The Brunel SP105M is an inverted metallurgical microscope available as either a brightfield or brightfield/darkfield system. Both models have infinity plan achromatic objectives of the UIS standard. The microscope stand itself is of a very modern design, with easy access to all parts. A particularly notable feature is the low position side port for photography and CCTV. This position avoids the traditional trinocular configuration, and therefore improves the visibility and access of the stage area. Both the SP105M and SP105MBD are ideally suited to video and still image production, and we have USB digital cameras of 5M and 9M resolution that are parfocal with these microscopes. Bright field objectives x5, x10, x20 and x50 as standard.
