The SP12 Dual Light microscope is exclusive to Brunel Microscopes and is an ideal microscope for the young enquiring mind without having many of the constraints of a standard biological microscope. The laws of light physics dictates that it is not possible to manipulate or dissect whole objects with a biological microscope because of the closeness of the objectives to the specimen, the fact that images are inverted and that usually whole objects are not transparent so that the transmitted light does not get through. However by having a light shining down onto the microscope stage from just behind the objectives the SP12 can look at the surface of whole objects when using the two lowest magnifications (x40 and x100). The x400 magnification has the objective just too close to the specimen for the top light to get in.

The Brunel SP28 is the latest addition in our series for student and amateur use, and indeed has professional applications because of its unique ability. This is an extremely versatile instrument with excellent LED illumination that can be rheostat controlled for brightness. An excellent specification including rotating monocular head with a x10 widefield eyepiece, four position turret with x4, x10, x40 and x100(oil) achromatic objectives for those who would mainly use the microscope for biological slide study and the occasional top light whole object application. objectives x4, x10, x40 and x100 (oil)
Price: £245.83 / Euro 307.29 (Excluding VAT at 20%)
The microscope in addition to the normal transmitted lighting of a biological microscope also has a focused LED light source on a flexible arm. Using x5, x10, and x20 long working distance objectives there is enough working distance between a slide and the objective for this light to illuminate a solid specimen with angled lighting from above which therefore does not compete with the image in the optical path. Ideal for looking at coins, swarp, topic structure of botanical and zoological specimens. Not in prepared slide format.
DIN standard achromatic objectives x4, x10, x40 and x100(oil). x10 widefiled eyepiece. Full sustage condenser. Mechanical stage. In built 240/110 volts illumination. Shown here with the teaching head in place.
DIN standard achromatic objectives x4, x10, x40 and x100(oil). x10 widefiled eyepiece. Full sustage condenser. Mechanical stage. An excellent LED lighting system powered by rechargeable batteries. The instrument can then be used without mains supply for 8 hours. Rheostat controlled
