A larger version of the SP-95-I, with a significantly larger stage, with a mechanical stage movement range of 79 x 112mm - this can be removed for very large specimen containers. The condenser assembly can swing out of the optical path to allow larger vessels and flasks to be screened. Long working distance plan objectives, x10, x25, x40 bright field and x10, x25 and x40 phase contrast with corresponding insert phase rings for the condenser. Long working distance condenser with a 50mm focal length.

The SP99I has a five position objective turret with long working distance bright field and phase contrast plan achromatic objectives. The x20 and x40 phase objectives are additional accessories. The standard condenser assembly incorporates a long working distance lens system with a 50mm focal length. An ultra long working distance condenser with a working distance of 70mm is available as an optional accessory, however this is not suitable for phase contrast examination. The condenser incorporates a Zernicke phase contrast ring system that accepts all magnification phase objectives. It has an independent centring system. This can be centred independently of the main condenser centring. The stage measures 227 x 208mm and has a moveable range of 77 x 114 mm. Three culture dish holders are supplied to suit the more common vessels. The low position coarse and fine focus controls are coaxial and includes a tension adjustment system and a variable focus stop arrangement that can control the maximum position of the objective turret.
