Nikon TMS Inverted Binocular Microscope

Nikon TMS Inverted Binocular Microscope

The TMS is one of the classic Nikon microscopes that were built specifically for the examination of tissue cultures. This is a very good example of the TMS and is all original. x10 wide field eyepieces set well above the stage plate. The microscope has rheostat controlled 6v 20watt halogen illumination. This TMS has a good turret of objectives that are all 160mm tube length.
x40 with coverslip correction (n.a. 0.55)
x10 (n.a. 0.25)
x20 (n.a. 0.40) with coverslip correction
x40 phase contrast DL (n.a. 0.55)

This is an excellent microscope at a very realistic price considering its heritage

Nikon SMZ645 Stereomicroscope (3468)

Nikon SMZ645 Stereomicroscope (3468)

Over recent years Nikon has established themselves as one of the leading microscope manufacturers. This is an excellent example of one of their stalwart stereomicroscopes. The SMZ645 was designed as the go to stereomicroscope for component production. This unit has a plain stand with rack and pinion focus throughout its length (although the stereohead position on this rack can be adjusted to deal with large variations in the height of specimens)

The zoom magnification system has a click stop indicator of actual position and with the x10 wide field eyepieces gives a magnification range of x8 to x50. We have added to the unit one of our own ring light units that has an integral brightness control. A quality microscope at good value

Price: £478.00 (Including VAT at 20%)

Nikon Eclipse E400

Nikon Eclipse E400

The Nikon Eclipse E400 is one of the classic laboratory standard microscopes from a few years ago when microscopes were ‘solid’. It has to be said ‘they don’t make them like this’ these days. This particular unit is in very good condition and has some very interesting features.

The binocular head is ergonomic which in a practical sense means the angle of the eyetubes can be adjusted to suit the height of the user. This no longer assumes that microscope users are 6 feet tall! The E400 has a substantial large mechanical stage with double vernier scales and a drop down coaxial movement control and a focusing substage condenser with iris diaphragm. The quartz halogen 6v 30watt lighting system provides Kohler illumination which is essential for a microscopes of this quality.

As with all modern Nikon microscopes the objectives are M25 screw thread and consist of x4, x10, x20 and x40 plan that are infinity corrected. In addition the microscope is equipped with a unique polariser/analyser system that was originally designed to identify uric acid crystals that are responsible for gout. This means that there is a combined polariser and first order red compensator that can be rotated independently. In other words this biological microscope is also very useful as a polarising microscope.

A substantial quality microscope at a very good price
