An excellent trinocular biological/polarising microscope. Circular rotating graduated stage and polarising filter. The analyser is on a slide in/out filter carrier in the microscope head. Objectives x10, x20 and x40. Widefield eyepiece x10. Rheostat LED illumination.

Four position objective turret with a precise internal indexing mechanism. Parfocal DIN standard plan objectives x4, x10, x40, x100 (oil), matched with extremely widefield plan x10 eyepieces. x20 and x60 objectives are available as accessories. The microscope head is rotatable through 360 degrees and has full dioptric and interocular adjustment. The trinocular head allows a fixed light share between the trinocular tube and the binocular eyetubes.

The large mechanical stage measures 135 x 125mm with a movement range of 75 x 35mm, and has drop down coaxial controls and double vernier scales. The substage condenser (N.A. 1.25) has a full rack and pinion control mechanism, centring adjusters and an iris diaphragm and filter carrier with daylight filter. The low position coaxial coarse and fine focus system in includes a tension adjustment and variable safety stop. The safety stop can also be used as a prefocus device as it does not effect the fine focus movement. The Kohler Illumination is by a particularly effective LED system which provides enhanced brightness with no heat gain.

The light source is a Kohler LED unit integral to the base of the microscope. This makes the microscope an ideal instrument for bright field, polarisation, dark field and phase contrast applications. A particular feature is the large rectangular mechanical stage with drop down co-axial controls. The SP300 is specifically configured to provide the optical specifications needed for critical resolution. The parfocal, plan, infinity corrected objectives are x4, x10, x20, x40 and x100 (oil immersion) giving a magnification range of x40 to x1000 with the excellent extra wide field x10 eyepieces that have integral fitted eyecups. The co-axial coarse and fine focus controls have a graduation reading in 2 microns for an estimate of depth measurement. The total focus range covers 35mm and the movement runs in extra wide precision ball-bearing hardened steel tracks. Tension adjustment and safety auto focus stop units are fitted as standard.
